Oh, I completely agree ego is a big driving factor here. Part of me wonders if, having that much money, these guys get bored and are resorting to these space-related projects as a way of keeping themselves occupied. I do believe humanity will eventually need to spread throughout the solar system, given the current state of the Earth and our collective unwillingness to change. That, and change for the better often comes slowly, as will the solutions these billionaires are working to enact. That being said, I agree they could be doing more to solve the problems we have today. And the current services they offer only cater to/benefit the upper crust of the upper crust. Maybe that will change? I can only speculate at this point. Thanks for reading!
